Ipsyversary: Face

Hey loves! I am back again with another installment of my Ipsyversary series! I hope that you are enjoying them so far! Let's get started!

Over the course of the year I've received so many wonderful products. I literally can create full looks with the products that I've received. Thanks to Ipsy I've come to know about some products that have become part of my makeup routine. Just like the previous posts in this series, I won't touch on all of the products, just the ones that I feel are worth talking about.

Hi Everyone! (Updates)

Hey loves! I'm so sorry it's been a few days since I've posted. My computer charge broke so my computer has been dead for the better part of the week. I've been using my computer at work to catch up on comments when I have free time, but I can't really do any of my blogging from it. I'm hoping to get a new charger today or tomorrow.

Once I have my new charger I will catch up on my posts! I will finish my Ipsyversary series, review my December Birchbox and Ipsy, and post my Beauty Crown Awards for week 2 and 3. Please, please, please bare with me as I catch up. I feel so horrible that I wasn't able to keep up with the #bigblogmasproject. I really wanted to succeed with it, but things happen.

I've also been having technical difficulties for filming. I filmed 2 videos and when I went to edit them they had no sound. Ughhhh, so I have do some re-filming as well. My goal is to be caught up by the end of the week.

I'm also hoping to be able to be on Twitter a bit more. I feel like I haven't really had time to connect with any of you :(. Soooo I will be around more this week! :)

In the meantime, don't forget to enter my giveaway! There's an Urban Decay Naked Basics palette up for grabs!  Talk to you soon! :)

Sephora Urban Decay Naked 3 Steal!

Hey loves! If you regularly read my blog then you already know that I'm participating in the #bigblogmasproject. It's just a challenge to post everyday from Dec 1st-Dec 24th. Today I was really having a hard time coming up with a topic. I don't want to just throw anything on here because I feel like that ruins the quality of the blog to do that.
As I was racking my brain trying to come up with a topic I kept thinking about the Naked 3 palette that I ordered this morning. I'm so excited about it and I can't wait to get it. The thing I'm most happy about is the price that I got it for. I decided that I will go ahead and share that today just for those that might've missed the email or forgot about it entirely.
So as you may already know Sephora and Ulta are both now carrying the Naked 3 palette! I didn't really have a preference of where I ordered it from. I just knew I had to have it. I was on Sephora's site when I started looking at reviews for the palettes. I saw people commenting that they had used their Sephora reward gift card towards their purchase and gotten up to $20 off.
At that moment it dawned on me that Sephora had sent me an email a few days ago with a rewards card worth $15. I decided at that moment that the Naked 3 palette would be mine! I fished through my emails and found the information then I went back to Sephora's site to place my order. After it was all said and done I paid $40.12 (shipping was free!!) for the palette! The palette costs $52 and with tax it would've been $55.12!
If I wouldn't have read the reviews I never would've remembered the reward card they sent. I'm so happy to have been able to use it that I wanted to be sure to pass it on. I'm sure there are others that received the reward card from Sephora and forgot about it, so here is your reminder! Now go get your palette girl!
Are you buying the Naked 3 palette? Do you own the other Naked palettes?

November 2013 Favorites!

Hey, hey, hey! It's time once again for my monthly favorites! I know I'm a bit late, but I still wanted to share them with you! Let's jump right in!

1. Urban Decay Naked Palette- I bought this in October and absolutely love it! The colors are beautiful and it's so versatile. I'm so happy that I bought this one!

2. Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Roller-ball Perfume- I got this in an Ipsy bag earlier this year and recently rediscovered it. I love the way it smells. I'm really bad at describing scents, but I'll give it a try. It smells sort of outdoorsy but is really light. It smells like your walking through a fragrant garden. I hope that helps a bit lol!

3. Fresh Sugar Petal Lip Treatment- Okay, this stuff seriously smells just like sugar! It smells good enough to eat! It doesn't dry my lips out which I really like. And the color is perfect! It's very light and perfect for everyday wear!

4. Wet-n-Wild Fergie Center Stage Collection Lip Stick- I love this lippie! The color is called Ferguson Crest Cabernet! It's a wine colored lippie that is perfect for the fall/winter. I love pairing this with a natural soft eye.

5. Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter- I really like this highlighter. I don't really own any highlighters so I was thrilled when I got this in Sephora's Beauty Insider birthday gift. It goes on smoothly. I think the highlighter looks great!

Conditioner: Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner- This conditioner is amazing! It does a great time moisturizing and conditioning my hair.

Hairspray: I don't use hairsprays! I don't like them.

Styling Product: Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Edge Control- I love this product for taming some of my fly-aways. It doesn't leave my hair hard or anything!

Hair Mask: Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise- This stuff is amazing! It definitely makes my hair feel stronger.

Body Mist: I don't use body mists! Would anyone like to recommend a good one to me?

Perfume: Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia- I love, love, love this perfume! It smells amazing! I usually don't like floral scents but this one is perfect!

SKIN CARE (Non-Facial)
Body Wash: Dove- Dove is so great! I love how soft and smooth my skin feels after using this. My favorite ones are the pomegranate & lemon verbena plum & sakura!

Bar Soap: Dove- I don't really use bar soap, but when I do it's Dove! Pretty much everything above still applies!

Body Scrub: I don't use one!

Moisturizer: I should probably use one but I don't.

Takin' off your makeup

Ok girls! You know that time when you get home from a long day and all you want to do is hit the sack? You struggle out of your clothes and into your pj's and get ready to lay down when you remember you still have to remove your makeup. You reach for your makeup removal wipes and the package is empty. What do you do now? You're too tired to go buy some, but you don't want to sleep in your makeup. I have a few products that can double as makeup removers that you most likely have in your home!

1. Vaseline

Now I wouldn't recommend using this method often as it can block your tear ducts, but when you're in a pinch it works wonders. All you have to do is apply a very thin layer to your face and eyes. Using a cotton ball, gently wipe the makeup away.

2. Baby Oil

Baby Oil also works wonders when removing makeup. Especially if you have a lot on. This is what I would use to remove my makeup in my stage makeup class. It really helped loosen the makeup and made it easier to wash it all off of my face. I also have used this to remove waterproof mascara that just didn't want to come off. Sometimes this has worked better than my makeup removal wipes!

3. Baby Wipes
They're so multi-purposed!
I don't know what it is about baby products and makeup, but they seem to work well together. Baby wipes were another tool that I used to remove makeup in my stage makeup class. What I love about using baby wipes is that they make your skin feel so soft and hydrated after using them. And they don't leave your face feeling oily. Plus they come in super cute containers (I love the Winnie the Pooh ones!) and they are multi-purposed! So they're a win-win!

I love keeping these products around because they are so affordable and work well when you need them. What household products do you use to remove your makeup? Let me know in the comments below or on Facebook!

Studio Gear Holiday Smokey Eye Palette*

Hello my beauties! Today I have another review for you! I want to tell you about the Studio Gear Holiday Smokey Eye Palette. Smokey eyes are perfect for the holiday season and with Christmas coming up I wanted to share this with you!
Powered by Brandbacker

Thankful for Blogger Friends Tag

ABOUT YOUR BLOG (Please be specific in your answers, so we can all learn something!):
  • How long have you been blogging?  I've been blogging for almost a year now, but seriously for about 6 months!
  • Are there any bloggers who helped you out/encouraged you when you first started your blog?  Oh yes! Julie & Ashley from 20/30 Glam were the ones who really got me blogging seriously! I had been blogging for a while before I met them, but was close to just giving up. When I met them they encouraged me to continue and gave me tips to improve!
  • What Social Media has given you the most traffic to your blog?  Is there a platform that you don’t use?  Twitter has become my best friend! I was being stubborn and didn't want to get used to Twitter, but once I did I really saw my numbers grow. Twitter really is a great platform to use. It's a great way to connect and the #bblogger chats are so helpful. I can't think of a platform that I don't use.
  • How often do you post?  Do you have a regular schedule?  I try to post at least 1-3 times a week. Some weeks are really busy for me so I can't post a lot, but other weeks are light so I post more. I'm trying to get on a regular schedule soon though. I'm hoping to have some time one day to just write a bunch of posts so that I can start scheduling them.
  • Where do you blog?  Anywhere I can find space. Sometimes my room. Sometimes my office at work. Sometimes Starbucks. No consistent place.
  • What camera do you use?  What photo editing software do you use?  I use my iPhone 4s a lot to take pics. For YouTube I use a Samsung camera but I'm not sure what kind it is. For photo editing I use Picmonkey.com and I sometimes attempt to use photo shop.
  • How did you come up with your blog name?  So my nickname is Neya and my middle initial is V. I always said that if I became an actor I would use Neya V as my stage name. I ended up using NeyaV as a username for different things so I decided to use it for my blog as well. I wanted the blog name to have something beauty related in it as well so that it could be easily recognized. I got beauty talk because beauty was an easy way to tell what the blog is about and because I love to talk!
  • Do you do any regular “series” posts on your blog?  No. I tried, but I kept forgetting to keep up with them. I do want to try again in the future!
  • What draws you to a blog?  Good writing. I don't like getting a headache from trying to figure out what's being said. I really like blogs with lots of photos!
  • What turns you off of a blog?  As I said in the last question I won't continue reading a blog that gives me headaches from trying to figure out what they're writing. I'm not saying that the spelling, grammar, and sentence structure has to be perfect. It just has to be readable.
  • How many blogs do you subscribe to? Are they all beauty related?  I honestly don't know. I know I follow at least 50. And yes they are all beauty related.
  • When do you generally read blogs?  Whenever I have time. Usually on my lunch break and throughout the day on the weekends.
  • What is your favorite type of post, and why?  I really like product reviews. It's a great way to find out about a product before purchasing it. I also love tags. They're a great way to get to know the person behind the blog!
  • What is your least favorite type of post, and why?  I don’t have a least favorite type of post. I pretty much like all of them!
NOW ABOUT YOU!!  (If any are any you prefer not to answer, just skip!):
  • Where do you live? Tell us a bit about your city!  I live in Metro-Detroit in Michigan. There's not much to say. We're known for Motown and the auto industry. As well as our wonderful (read sarcastic) crime rate.
  • What about your home?  I live with my father-in-law and brother-in-law in a quiet neighborhood.
  • Single or taken?  I have been married for a year and a half!
  • Do you have children?  Not yet!
  • Do you have pets?  Hubby and I don't, but his dad has 2 dogs!
  • Do you have a “day job”?  Yep! I work at a retail store in the mall part-time and I work for a small business full-time.
  • How tall are you?  5’5"
  • Do you have siblings?  I am the oldest of 7. I have 5 sisters and 1 brother.
  • 3 words to describe yourself.  Shy, nice, and dedicated.
  • Who is your style icon, and why?  I don't have a style icon, but if I could raid anyone's closet it would be Beyonce's!
  • 3 favorite bands/musicians. You're gonna think I'm weird now! I love Beyonce, Demi Lovato, and Miley Cyrus!
  • 3 favorite movies.  Cinderella, Love and Basketball, The Notebook
  • 3 favorite books.  Kindred, The Giver, Of Mice and Men
  • 3 random/weird facts about you.  I was born with an extra finger (it didn't grow though so you don't really notice it), I have seen every episode of Hannah Montana, I love grapes but hate anything grape flavored and/or scented.
