2013 Goals

I’m not one for making New Year resolutions simply because I can never remember them anyways, but this year I’ve decided to set some goals for myself to accomplish by the end of the year.
1. Find a full time job. It’s about that time for me to get a big girl job. These minimum wage jobs are no longer paying my bills. I’m currently screening calls from Sallie Mae. That’s real life.
2. Eat healthier and lose weight. This is going to be a tough one for me. I want to lose weight, but it’s so hard to stay motivated. And eating healthier is a huge challenge when you’re a picky eater. Most of the healthy recipes I come across have tons of ingredients on my “I don’t eat that” list.
3. Be money smart. I’m not going to lie: I’m horrible with saving money. I just have to have the new shoes in the window of my favorite store and I have to try the newest mascara that’s out. I have a hard time telling myself no. And budgets? They just don’t seem to work for me. That’s why I will be taking personal finance classes at some point this year because this uncontrollable spending has got to stop! I should also probably learn how to balance my checkbook. I vaguely remember my dad teaching me, but I wasn’t listening.
4. Buy a house. Ok this one might have to wait until next year (or whenever my husband and I both have full time jobs), but it’s still a goal of mine. I’m tired of apartment living and I would love my own space. I just want a cute starter home that will accommodate me, hubby, a couple of pets, and future babies comfortably!
5. Become a stronger writer. I’ve always had strong writing skills, but I’ve slacked off quite a bit since I first started college. I used to write all the time and it was fun and relaxing. Now writing feels hard to me and I don’t like that. I want to be confident in my writing again and the only way to do that is to write regularly.
6. Read more. I love to read! In middle school I could finish a 12 book series in a week. Really, I could! Once I get into a book it’s impossible for me to put it down. Since high school I have read very few books just for fun. I would like to change that this year. I would like to read a book a month. More if I have time. I’ll be sure to share them here too!
What are your goals for this year?

February 2013 Glam Bag!!!

I just got my Ipsy bag, Ipsy bag, Ipsy bag! I just got my Ipsy bag, let's see what's inside!

Wow, that sounded so much better in my head! As you can tell I got my monthly Glam bag and I'm excited to share my thoughts on the products!

I won't lie. This is not my favorite bag. My December bag is still holding that title. However, I am excited to try a few of the products that we received this month. I haven't tried any of the items yet, but once I do I will link an updated post.

So let's get started! The theme for the bag this month is "Red Carpet Ready" and the products mainly focus on the eyes. The bag itself is black plastic and the inside is red. I personally don't like it and will most likely pass this one on to my sister. It doesn't seem like it'll hold too much and I'm just really not a fan of the material.

The bag contained 5 different samples in it.

1. Gel Eyeliner by Mica Beauty Cosmetics
My first reaction? Yes! I've been wanting to try a gel liner. I actually bought one last month for like $2 but I haven't worn it out yet. The color is black which is great. I haven't really gotten up the nerve to try another color yet.

2. A Quad Eyeshadow Sample Set by Coastal Scents's kind of small. It has four colors in it: candlelight, gunmetal, incognito, and ashen. I wish I would've gotten the other version. I heard it has shades of gold in it which I love. However, these colors will force me to try a new look and experiment with new colors. That's the point of this, right?

3. An Ipsy Deluxe Sample of Lash Cards by Lash Card
What the hell is this?! Seriously. I'm still trying to figure it out. I've never heard of these before. These might just be tossed.

4. Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara by Pop Beauty
I'm not really in the market for a new mascara since I've been using They're Real! by Benefit. I'll probably just use this one for practice runs so my current mascara will last longer.

5. Flawless & Poreless Face Primer by Pixi
I'm always up for trying a new primer! I love primer because it always makes my eyeshadow pop! It also helps my foundation go on nice and smooth so I'm excited to see how this one works for me!

Overall, this bag is ok. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 7. It has a few good products in it, but it just doesn't measure up to my December bag which was like a 20!

I'm hoping that the next bag will be awesome! I'd love to see a bag with a nice print, more brands, maybe a moisturizer, and a lip color that is not red! What would you like to see in a bag?

What did you think of your bag? Which products are you most excited about?
