Lash Bash Party: Big Disappointment

I've been avoiding writing this post because I wasn't really sure how to approach it, but I've always promised that I will always be honest with my readers and I don't want to disappoint. If you've been following my blog then you already know all about my Lash Bash Party and my excitement for it. I bought tons of decorations, put together games, and sent out cute invitations.

The Photo Area
Unfortunately, my party didn't go anywhere close to as planned. I invited 9 girls and only 2 came. One of those 2 resides in the house so in actuality only one person came. It was very disappointing. At that point I had only had 2 girls tell me that they might not be able to make it, but I had not heard from the rest so I thought they were all still coming (everyone RSVP'ed so I had no reason to think they weren't coming). Needless to say I was hurt. Here is a video of my reaction to the lack of guests. It is how I honestly felt at the time.

I had put so much time and energy into planning this and had spent a good amount of money on extras that I was pretty upset. However, I didn't want to ruin the party for my two guests that were there because it wasn't their faults that that happened. I put on a brave face and told them not to worry about it and that we would still have fun. My 15-year-old sister isn't much a people person so she pretty much stayed in the other room watching TV. It gave me and my friend time to catch up though since we hadn't seen each other in a while.

The Gift Bag Table complete with Makeup Themed Wine Glasses
After getting caught up and eating some delicious food (my mom made homemade chicken salad! yum!) I still wanted her to have the opportunity to try the products. So I grabbed a gift bag for her. I also gave her one of the game prizes since she actually showed up. She tried the mascara first and loved it! It was great seeing her reaction to the difference it made! Next, she tried the Benetint and loved that too! She loved how it gave her a natural look. I can't remember if she tried the lipgloss or not.

The Wine Glasses
In the prize bag she had a sample of the BadGal mascara. She tried it and really liked that one as well. I told her how she could layer the two to get a great look. I also shared with her some of the full sized products they sent us. She wanted to try the eyebrow gel since she had never used one before and she fell in love with that as well! I think I might have turned her into a Benebabe that night!

The Makeup Bar
After playing around with the makeup she went over to the Makeup Bar and put together her goody bag! She teased that I was trying to force her to like pink.We talked for a little bit longer and then she headed home. After she left my mom, my sister, and I began to clean up. My mom was saying that one of her friends wanted to have a girls night and asked if I would come over for that and give them some makeup tips! It made me feel great to know that my mom was trying to find a way to cheer me up.

The Guest Table
I was really dreading writing this post. All I could think was, "Wow, this is so embarrassing." I had done so much promoting of this party and had received so many comments on the posts about it that I knew I couldn't pretend like it never happened. Even after the party I had people commenting that they couldn't wait to see pictures. I didn't know what to do. I ultimately decided to not let this keep me down and that I was going to write the post anyways and just be honest. I was also upset because I felt like I couldn't enter the contest after the party because I don't have any pictures to share, but I decided to work with what I have and still enter anyways. Even though I only had two guests I still had a great time. Thank you Benefit and Ipsy for the opportunity!
