Lash Bash Party: Invitations

Hey guys! Just wanted to give a quick update about my Lash Bash Party planning and show you the invitations. I sent out most of my invites today. I was trying to wait a little bit longer to see if Benefit or Ipsy were going to add invitation templates to the lash bash party website, but I wanted my invitees to have time to RSVP and to send more invitations if someone is not able to come.

I bought these really cute invites from Target. The border is silver with leopard print and it has another pink border inside of it. They only cost me $8. You can buy invitations cheaper at the dollar store or you can make your own. I'll tell you how below.

I thought these invites were perfect for a girly party. Plus they had some pink in them and pink is my favorite color! The only thing I didn't like about these invites was that there wasn't much space left for me to add additional info. That's why I decided to put inserts into the envelopes. I was browsing the Ipsy Facebook Page and saw that another Ipster had made her own invitations using the picture from the congratulatory email they sent us. I inquired as to how she did it and then decided to make my own inserts. She told me that she just whited out the text and then added her own text to the picture. I wasn't quite sure how she did this so I played around with it myself. Here are the ones I made:

Here is the original picture:

Here's how I made them:

  1. Copy the picture that you would like to use. Since I only needed inserts I used the 'one "lash" chance' picture from the website.
  2. Open the paint app on your computer and paste the picture.
  3. Use the eraser tool to remove any text and/or pictures you do not want to use.
  4. For mine I wanted to use the picture of the "Glambassador" so I opened one of the pictures with her on it and cut her out from it. Once I cut her from the picture I pasted her into mine. You can use any picture of your choice or no picture at all.
  5. Use the text tool to add your text. You can choose the size, color, and font. Be careful when using the text tool because there's no way to delete it and sometimes pressing "undo drawing" will undo more then just the text you added. I know this from experience haha
  6. Print
I tried to print mine at home, but my printer did not have enough ink and only printed one. I didn't feel like buying ink so I had them printed at CVS instead. I was able to pick them up the same day (about an hour later) and it cost me $3.93 including tax. The only downside was that I didn't print the correct size so some of the printing is cut off.

The insert printed from my printer.
The insert printed at CVS.

The pictures are kind of hard to read on here so here is what they say:

"Get ready for an evening of fun filled with games, snacks, laughter, and most importantly tons of mascara! See you there! Rodneya"

I really want this to be a social get together so at the bottom of my inserts it says: Tweet and Instagram with me: @neyavbeautytalk #nvbtlashbash

I'm hoping that my girls will use the hashtag I gave them so that I can easily find all of the pics from the party to add them to the blog! I'm even thinking of doing some video during the party too!

Were you selected to be a glambassador? Have you started your planning? What are you doing for yours? If you haven't applied and would like to hurry and apply here. The last chance to enter is 9/8.
