Hey loves! I have another review for you today. I want to tell you about this lip scrub that I got from Lush. I work at a mall part-time and like to walk around on my break. I always walk by lush, but I've never actually stopped in went inside. I didn't really know what it was and wasn't too interested in going in. One day I was searching online for recipes to lip scrubs. Someone I follow on Instagram had posted one last year, but she didn't give measurements with it. So when I tried to make it I couldn't figure out the correct consistency and it didn't work out very well.
The Highlights
The lip scrub is made fresh for you in the store. It comes in different flavors so you can choose the best one for you. It is vegan and preservative free. And it's safe to consume-but probably shouldn't just sit there and eat it!
How to use it
It is a bit messy which makes it kind of hard to use in my opinion. You pinch a bit of it between your fingers and scrub it on your lips. You scrub until your lips feel soft and smooth. Once you're done scrubbing you simply lick off the remaining product on your lips.
The Real Deal
I think it's effective. Everytime I use it my lips are nice and soft aftewards. As for the taste it's ok. It taste like bubblegum but with something in it. I don't really know how to describe it. The smell is nice. It does smell just like bubblegum too. If I buy this again I would probably get a different flavor. My biggest gripe with this is how messy it is. I try to always stand over a sink or trash can when using this so it won't get all over the place.
Size and Cost
It costs $9.95 for a 0.8 oz (25 g) jar.
I like how they put the name of the person who made it, the date it was made, and the expiration date. |
The Verdict
It does it's job well. I'm not sure how I feel about the cost though. It's a bit pricey for something that I don't use everyday. Maybe once winter hits I'll need it more often, but right now it's just sitting around. And I have noticed that the product on top is starting to get a bit hard. It's still useable though. Just rub it between your fingers before applying. As I said earlier I don't like how messy it is, but I honestly can't think of a way for hem to improve that. All in all I think it's a good product. I would recommend going into a store and trying it if you can. If you can't then I would suggest finding a cheaper alternative before trying this.
